Don't Shout!!!! :)

by Octavia Timothy
(Dominica)

Do not shout or yell at a deaf person to get your message across. In Deaf Culture, this is considered rude and embarrassing. Shouting does not guarantee that your message will be any clearer. If you do not know sign language write your message or use an interpreter.

Right!

You're absolutely right! In Deaf Culture, it is extremely rude to shout at a deaf person. If anything, this makes your message even more unclear! For the deaf people who read lips, shouting actually makes what you're saying more difficult to read. It doesn't help your communication at all :-P
