Yes! Howard Hughes does deserve to be on this list. Thank you so much for this addition!

Howard Hughes was an aviator, film producer, engineer, film director, industrialist, and philanthropist. He was also one of the wealthiest people in the world.

Hughes became famous in the late 1920s when he produced big budget controversial films like Scarface, Hell's Angels, and The Outlaw.

As an aviator, Hughes set many world air-speed records, built the Hughes H-1 Racer and the H-4 aircraft, as well as acquired and expanded Trans World Airlines.

Even through this history-making biography, only his closest friends knew that he was practically deaf. Because of a childhood illness, Hughes heard a constant ringing in his ears. Hughes is said to have only been truly happy in the cockpit--where the ringing in his ears would stop and he could leave the rest of the world behind.

What an inspiration!
