Tomora Michelle Pace

by Tomora Pace
(Tuskegee, Alabama)

Tomora Michelle Pace at the age of 4 years was diagnosed with having a moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears, which eventually led to her wearing hearing-aids.

In the early school years, Tomora continued to overcome her disability in spite of being constantly teased by her peers and a science teacher.

One teacher, however, encouraged Tomora to take a Sign Language class to help with communication issues and from there, Tomora began to help other deaf students like herself to learn to believe in themselves.

She also went on to college at Jacksonville State University and took classes with Miss Heather Whitestone McCallum, Miss America 1995.

Tomora continues to help others to believe in themselves.
