What ASL resources do you use?

by Olivia

Hello. I am doing a project for a class about sign language. Your website seems factual, but how can I know? Where have you gathered this information? I NEED factual information.

Answer:

Hi Olivia,

I very much admire your diligence! Most people would think information is fact just if someone else says it.

I gathered my information throughout my college career. Most people would call that being an "expert" in my field. And that's why I don't necessarily cite my sources. However, at the bottom of most of my informational pages, there is a section that says "Recommendations" and there is an Amazon widget. All the books you find on that widget are books I used in college. Depending on the subject matter, these books are different on different pages. For example, the Deaf History page has the Deaf history books I used while the Deaf Culture page has the Deaf Culture books I used.

Another good way to know my information is factual is if other experts in the field say it's true. So, if you see any information I give you somewhere else, you can be pretty sure it's factual.

God bless,

Michelle Jay
